From finding a course to enrolling

  1. Create and verify your account. Use an @anu.edu.au address and a separate prototype password. Open the emailed link and confirm, then sign in. Without an ANU inbox, select the Demo tab, choose an address ending in @enrolment.test and confirm it in your private demo inbox here.
  2. Explore courses. Search by full code, number, or title. Use the subject filter to distinguish codes such as COMP6528 and ENGN6528.
  3. Save courses to consider. Open a course, choose its offering, and save it to My courses. Saved courses are candidates; confirmed enrolments have their own section.
  4. Resolve permission requirements. Read the comparison with your fictional academic record and get a demo assessment attached to that offering. Select whether you are relying on the record, disputing it, claiming equivalent study or seeking an exception. Your explanation is saved as self-reported context; it does not change academic facts. Unknown conditions produce specific next steps. Optional staff review is available, but that queue is not staffed automatically.
  5. Check your study load. Confirmed enrolments normally cannot exceed 24 units per half-year. A 12-unit course counts twice as much as a 6-unit course; choose a credit value for variable-unit courses. If needed, follow Request overload assessment and explain why. The saved report checks the published thresholds and identifies missing evidence. Optional program review is separate from course permission.
  6. Confirm enrolment. Ready courses and approved requests can be confirmed individually. It then appears under Confirmed enrolments in My courses and My profile. Pending requests do not stop you enrolling in other courses.

Complete example without waiting for staff

Try the fictional COMP8620 topic scenario. Its separate academic record and topic assumptions demonstrate permission and explicit confirmation. Once confirmed, it appears under Demo scenario completions in My courses and My profile, separate from academic enrolments. All decisions use a demo policy, not ANU authority.

Your academic profile

Confirmed enrolments now offer Swap and Drop. Drop removes an enrolment from your current load after confirmation. Swap checks a replacement in the same session and keeps the original course if it cannot complete. Course changes and permission history remain available in My courses. These prototype changes do not model official withdrawal deadlines or fees.

Overload assessment needs exact marks and completed current-program units. Existing demo profiles may lack those details, so the report will show what cannot be established. Your message cannot replace academic evidence. An overload approval raises the load limit to 30 or 36 units for that half-year; it does not enrol a course.

Your account gets a fictional Master of Computing (Advanced) record with foundation subjects. It is demonstration data, not a connection to ANU's student records. View it under My profile.

Suggestions for your next semester

New accounts get a versioned Computing (Advanced) scenario with an Artificial Intelligence specialisation, completed results for 2026 S1, 2026 S2 and 2027 S1, and a starting plan for 2027 S2. All records and marks are fictional. Historical 2026 availability is assumed for the scenario; the saved 2027 rules check its consistency, not real commencement-year requirements.

My profile suggests courses from your completed results, degree requirements and saved offerings. It prioritises remaining requirements and prerequisites for later study, separates permission/evidence cases, and allows for confirmed and saved courses when suggesting a load. Current enrolments are not passed credit. Save an option, then confirm enrolment through its course page. Review My courses to remove a candidate or drop/swap an enrolment.

Existing accounts keep their academic history. They can save the AI study focus and planning semester without changing their results. Selecting 2028 shows indicative options from the saved 2027 pages; those pages do not open future enrolment. Suggestions remain useful if completion takes longer. They do not certify GPA, project approval, credit substitutions or graduation.

Inside My profile, the Course adviser can match your interests to ready courses and show the saved source excerpts. Choose your preferred total units in its separate field; a number in your message does not set that limit. Suggestions still pass the normal eligibility and load checks. If AI matching is unavailable, you can still apply a unit preference. After changing your semester or courses, update the adviser to use the current record. Use standard suggestions returns to the usual planner. The adviser does not approve permissions or enrol you.

For reviewers and the teaching team

Registering as a student does not grant reviewer access. Only the project owner can invite reviewers. An invited reviewer sees other students’ requests sent for review for their assigned courses, the student's explanation, the relevant eligibility checks, and the request history. Approval and rejection are recorded; rejection requires a reason. They cannot browse other students’ profiles or requests outside that assignment.

To try reviewer access, arrange an invitation with the project owner using a real @anu.edu.au inbox you can receive mail at. The same account can be both a student and an invited reviewer. Open the invitation and confirm. Existing verified accounts keep their password and student data; new reviewers choose a password. Use Switch to reviewer view or Switch to student view in the header. Reviewer-only accounts can choose Create my student view to generate a fictional record once. Invitations expire after 30 minutes; use Resend verification or invitation on the sign-in page if needed. If another account is signed in, the invitation offers Sign out and continue. A private browser window lets you keep both views open separately. See Reviewer access for the invitation pipeline. The project owner has an invitation-management form there.

Without an invitation, create a demo student from the Demo tab and selectTry reviewing my demo requests. That view can decide only requests from your own demo profile. Send a course or overload request for review first, then approve or reject it in the demo reviewer view. The saved decision is labelled as a simulation; approval still needs explicit enrolment confirmation from the student view.

Your queue lists your assigned courses. To populate it, a student opens one of those courses, chooses the request reason, then selects Optional staff review → Send to convenor. Automatic demo assessments do not enter the human queue. After reviewer approval, the student confirms enrolment. Course catalogue and Course library remain available to reviewers for browsing.

About the dataset

Study-load review uses a separate fictional program reviewer, Dr Avery Hart. The project owner can invite a normal ANU account to that role. This queue receives only overload reports where the student selected Send overload request for review. Decisions require an explanation, and a course convenor cannot grant an overload.

Find courses and the course library use the same supplied 2027 pages, including descriptions, learning outcomes, requirements and offerings. All 80 course pages have a source-bound interpretation or an explicit source gap. Course completions, program restrictions, credit groups and conditional permission are checked where the evidence allows. Topic conditions, equivalence, GPA, selection decisions and unclear wording can remain unresolved with specific next steps. Missing requisite sections never mean automatic eligibility. A course without a recorded offering cannot accept an enrolment request. Existing requests retain their original year. All reviewer identities and academic records are fictional. The first course-suggestion example covers Computing (Advanced) and Artificial Intelligence; other degree and specialisation audits are not implemented.

Account help

To change your prototype password, open My account, enter your current password and request a password-change link. It goes to your saved real email or private demo inbox. Follow the link to choose a different password. Completing the change signs out all sessions but preserves your profile, requests and enrolments. You can request up to three links every 15 minutes.

Demo inbox access lasts up to eight hours in its browser and closes when you sign out. Your chosen demo address and password let you sign in again; your fictional academic data persists. Use fictional details in requests, which are visible to their assigned reviewer if you choose human review.

Forgotten your password? Use Forgot password? to receive a reset link at your verified ANU email. You do not need the old password. Verification and reset links last 30 minutes. Demo recovery requires an open private inbox or a signed-in demo session; if you lose both your password and inbox access, create a new demo account with a different address.
